Fall has finally arrived and I'm getting out all my cozy sweaters and boots. But with the seasons change one of my favorite drinks has come back in stock as well. Of course, I'm talking about Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte. So every fall I'm desperately waiting for that "PSL back in stores" sign at Starbucks only to go in and get myself my favorite fall drink ever. It's only when standing at the counter paying for my grande PSL and a pumpkin spice muffin that I halfway regret my decision. Needless to say: Starbucks is expensive! So I thought about sharing two little recipes to recreate my Starbucks experience at home for a lot cheaper.

So keep on reading to find the recipes for the Pumpkin Spice Latte syrup to recreate your own fall flavored latte at home as well as a recipe for a super easy Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin.

THE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE

To recreate your ultimate Starbucks experience at home you'll need a PSL. So here is the recipe for the syrup:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

- 1 1/2 cups of water
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tbsp allspice
- 1/2 tbsp ginger
- 1/2 tbsp cloves
- 3 tbsp pumpkin puree

STEP 1: bring water and sugar to boil
STEP 2: mix in all other ingredients and cook for 3 minutes but keep stiring
STEP 3: let the syrup cool before sifting it
STEP 4: fill it into a little glas bottle and keep it in your fridge until usage
STEP 5: make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate or latte and put in a tiny amount of the syrup

And there you have it. This was literally so easy to make. And let me tell you: While making the sirup your house will smell amazing!

THE PUMPKIN CHOCOLOATE CHIP MUFFIN

When I go into Starbucks, I always see their delicious treats such as the chocolate chip cookie or the pumpkin muffin. So I thought, why not put the two together and get the best of both of them. So here is my recipe of the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin.

STEP 1: Pre-heat oven to 170°C or 350°F
STEP 2: Mix all your dry ingredients (no chocolate chips) in one bowl and all your wet ingredients in another before combining everything
STEP 3: fold in the chocolate chips
STEP 4: Fill the mixture into little cupcake tins and bake for 15 minutes

Now, there is nothing else to do than to lean back and enjoy. They. Are. Delicious!

DRY INGREDIENTS:

- 1 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/ tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 2/3 cup sugar

WET INGREDIENTS:

- 2/3 cup apple puree
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp oil
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2/3 cup or 1 package of chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup sugar

5 TIPS ON HOW TO SAVE MONEY AT STARBUCKS

Firstly, don't go in! 🙂 Secondly, recreate the two recipes above. But seriously, if you need to get your Starbucks coffee then here are 5 tips on how to save money at Starbucks.

Number 1: Get yourself a Starbucks mug (great christmas present) and bring it into the store. They will fill it up with the drink of your choice and you'll get it a little cheaper. Win-Win for everyone!

Number 2: If you are a regular Starbucks customer, get the reward card. With it you can collect stars for every purchase and get free birthday drinks and tons of other discounts. Never really got one myself, as I am not going in as regularly.

Number 3: Never ever get the venti (large) with extra whipped cream on top. 'Cause you'll most definitely end up getting less caffeine as they fill up the cup with all those extra calories in the form of whipped cream. Save your money.

Number 4: If you are one of them people that order just a regular cup of coffee (booooring), than drink it in stores as you'll get a refill for only 50cents (whoot whoot).

Number 5: Shopping with your best friend and then ordering an iced drink each? Now wait a minute! The biggest size you can get for cold beverages is the trenta. As two tall (S) drinks are more expensive than one trenta (XL) but contain the same amount of cooled drink, why not order a trenta beverage with an extra cup and split your iced drink? That's the way to go!

Now I love to have my PSL in my favorite cup while being cuddled up in a blanked or on the run in my coffee mug. I also take along one of them Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins as they are so delicous. But this would easily make a great birthday gift for a friend as well. I just recently did just that.

So I hope this blogpost did get you into the fall spirit and hopefully you'll soon enjoy a PSL with a muffin on the side. Be sure to tell me how it went. Also, if you have any other fall recipes for me to try out, please post them in the comments down below. Also, be sure to hit the like button if you enjoyed this post, it'll be highly appreciated!

PS: PUMPKIN PUREE

If you can't find any canned pumpkin puree this is how you make it yourself:

STEP 1: buy a classic halloween pumpkin (Hokkaido)
STEP 2: cut it into pieces leaving the peel on as its ok to eat
STEP 3: cook in water just like potatoes until mushy
STEP 4: mix with blender until you get the puree - DONE
